Shoe Love (justfab.com)

I received this email last week...

I signed up on Just Fab last November and ordered these boots. I've logged on since then to browse their inventory, but never paid any attention to my account credits. I've been billed $39.95 for the last 5 months, which meant I had 5 credits available. This kinda sucked at first, until I realized that I can order 5 pairs of shoes that were completely paid for by me already! Yay me!! Here is what I chose...
Patavia in Camel

 Joelle in Wine

 Bellagio in Seafoam

I can't wait to get these! I may be able to wear the Joelle booties once before it starts to get too hot, I will be wearing the Bellagio heel to a wedding this weekend, and I'm saving the platform gladiators that are Patavia for our next girls night out!

I decided to save two credits because I'm sure Just Fab is creating something "Fabulous" that I will not be able to live without!! In the meantime, I think I will be paying closer attention to my credit card statement...

DIY Boot Shapers

Thank you to ...love Maegan for this ingenious idea!!
I bought these beauties from JustFab.com
and this is how they stand up in my closet...
but after I made me a pair of Maegan's amazing boot shapers for myself, now they stand up like this!!
I love them! And I will be making several more for all of my other boots!
(sorry for the crappy iPhone pics)

Leopard Loafers

I looove me some cute flats!!

I purchased these at Target for an amazing $14.99!! But I have yet to wear them.
They look similar to the Charlotte Olympia Kitty Flats (without the cute kitty detail, retail $895). Mrs. Beyonce wore these beauties on an outing with her beautiful baby girl.
The shape of this shoe also reminds me of the Alexander McQueen calf hair leopard print loafers (that are on sale for $537 but seem to be sold out everywhere). Of course the leopard print is severely different, but similar loafer style, nonetheless.
So far, I've only tried them on. They're very comfy. Eventually i will wear them...

Jeffrey Campbell Knock Offs

My daughter's high school graduation is next friday!

There's not much "fashion" or "beauty" to a Cap & Gown. But with Dajha being so "fashion forward", I knew she was gonna think of a way to stand out from the crowd. So in this case, she chose to amp up her shoe game!

If you have never visited the Knock Me Off blog, shame on you! Head over there right now and check them out. If there's something you want but it's way too expensive for your budget, but you really love it, they will find a great priced replica and post them both for you. That's how we found these beautiful Jeffrey Campbell The Night Walk Shoes

The "Real" ones are only $170, which are actually kind of affordable...

But why buy the real ones when you can get these from gojane.com for $34!!
Honestly, there can't be much difference. What do you think? The one thing that sold Dajha on this shoe was that the replica had a beautiful velvetty red sole (Louboutin style), but the authentic JC shoe sole is solid black.
I can't wait to see her all dolled up in these fabulous shoes. They are truly a beautiful work of art, just like her! Thanks to the folks at Knock Me Off and thanks to you for reading!

Fashion Friday & A New Blog

Introducing Stvck ^ (stuck up)

My daughter started her own fashion blog a few days ago. Here is a snap shot of it.
Her name is Dajha Symone, but you will notice that her 'about me' name says "dae", which is her nickname. This is how her first post got it's name. "Outfit of the Dae". So clever and cute, don't you think?

The blog name, Stvck ^ (stuck up) is the name of her future clothing line. She plans to major in fashion design. She has an eye for fashion that is unbelievable! Here is just a quick look at some of her past looks...
on Easter this year..
prom after party..
chillin with friends (shorts were a DIY project)
Call me crazy, but I noticed that she loves the left side of the camera frame. You will discover also that she loves accessories and is addicted to shoes (but what girl isn't). So check out her blog sometime, and remember her name, you may hear it again someday.

Fashion Fridays: Prom 2012

Evidently the new trend is dark lips???

My daughter's Prom was this past weekend. She wore very dark lipstick. I hated it. She loved it.
This lip color is by Maybelline #835, Dazzling Plum. She used her NAKED palette on her eyes. Here's more of this trendy lip look as seen on  Coco and Creme
This was my baby girl's prom look. So that you know a little bit about her, she will begin pursuing her degree in Fashion this fall. She is so far out-of-the-box, and she never "goes with the crowd". She created her own "Prom Swag". I admit, after her whole look came together, it did look really good. So let's break it down...I have to share, because it looks effortless and it didn't cost me a fortune!

Dress: Cache $178
Boots: Baker's $89
Jacket: $3
Gold Snake necklace: $1
Wooden necklace: $1
Bracelets & Ring: $5 each

Dajha looooves our local thrift store. They know her personally! The jacket and necklaces came from there. The bracelets and ring came from a jewelry sale hosted at my job, everything was $5 each!! I was so not buying her the Jeffrey Campbell boots that she originally wanted, so when we were in Dallas shopping the week before prom, we stumbled upon these. Much better price point than the $200 JC's.
Fashion Fridays on my blog will be totally dedicated to her style, ideas etc. Look her up a few years from now, you never know what the future holds!!

Fashion Friday: DIY Bobby Pin Necklace

There's nothing like a good DIY project. This one is super easy! All you need is bobby pins and ribbon.

Be creative and alternate colors, or use one solid color like I did here. I tied this tightly around the neck because it looks great as a choker...gives it lots of African Swag!! Alternating colors like black and gold would give this necklace a greek goddess, egyptian-like feel.

You could also lightly coat some of the bobby pins with a rusty red and use leather instead of ribbon to give it a more earthy, indian sort of feel...the possiblities are endless!! This is such a statment piece.

DIY T-Shirt Scarf

This is the fastest do-it-yourself project I have ever done...
I saw a photo on Pinterest of a scarf made out of old t-shirts so I decided to try it, and here it is!
This literally took minutes to do. I used two t-shirts, gray and blue (seemed like they would go good together). See the tutorial here. I'm such a scarf girl, so this time of year is my favorite. Can you imagine all the different color combos you could do with this? Love...

Basketball Wives Inspired Earrings

I fell victim to the hype!!!
Like most young ladies, I was obsessed with this show. But not for the drama, I tuned in every week mainly to check out their outfits, their fabulous shoes and to see what mesmerizing earrings they would be wearing! My favorites were these...

I think these were everybody's favorite because I have seen so many youtube videos on how to make them. Well I didn't want to buy anyone else's. I wanted to make them myself, then possibly sell my version in my Etsy Shop :). So here they are...

You may be saying, "she didn't make these, she bought them because the sticker is still on them". But if you look closely, I made my own labels for these (to match my blog header) and I purchased the black earring cards. This is all in preparation for selling these and other items in my Etsy Shop. These were so easy and fun to do. Let me know if you like them, or if you ever watched Basketball Wives, what were your favorite earrings? Thanks for reading!!
